[Plugin: Yet Another Related Posts Plugin] Request: Make Tags/Kategorie Option boxes optional

  • Hi,

    i totally love YARPP but unfortunately i can’t use the Options page in Firefox (on several computers mac and pc). I think that’s because the list of tags is so long in our blog. Would it probably be possible to make the display of tags and categorie option boxes optional? I don’t need them at all and i think most people don’t need to exclude single tags – also probably having an autocomplete text field instead of this long list of option boxes would be a possiblity.

    @helmi I’ve thought about such options in the past. If those lists don’t load correctly or take too long, you should still be able to mess with the other options, though.

    The problem for me is that my tag list is so extensive that it takes forever to load and makes the options page freeze. It basically renders the options page unusable.

    I am not in the exact situation as towner but I would love to be able to remove the tags at the bottom because its causing some clutter and it isnt going well with the theme of my website. Is there any way to remove them from the bottom of each post from the php file or by any other means ?

    well after going round and round for 2 hours i finally found a solution to this. It is inside the single.php file, you have to find <?php the_tags(‘<p>Tags: ‘, ‘, ‘, ‘</p>’); ?> and delete it and it will delete all the tags! hope this works for you towner.

    @frenchtowner – I apologize, I’ve heard of this issue from others with a very extensive list of tags as well. I may be considering different options on presenting the exclude tags and categories for a future version of YARPP.
