Plugins and Themes disappeared

  • I did a long search on this forum and found similar problems but not the answers to fix my problem.

    The themes and plugins in the admin panel have simply *disappeared*. I can’t think of any reason why this happened, because things were working fine. In fact, the theme I see on my site is the custom one I had before too, so there doesn’t seem to be a problem rendering the themes.

    The last thing i did that may have caused this is I added a plugin to my wp-content folder. The plugin is for wimpy player.

    Tried, deleting that, but still nothing.

    The database string for active_plugin is a:1:{i:0;s:0:””;}

    Can anyone help?

  • Have you asked your host if they changed anything ? Of course even if they have they may say No, so email them and be explicit.

    You can still see everything when looking by ftp ? Tried adding something new ? Deleting an old plugin and adding a new ?

    Ok. Nevermind.
    I took a break, didn’t touch a thing. came back and things are there (without the Wimpy plugin).

    I’m going to re-upload the plugin and see if that could have been the cause. Or perhaps it just takes time? (like 2 hours?)

    That sounds like a host issue.
