• Hello
I was updating some plugins when I went off the page bfore they were finished updating. My site posted just a line of bold black text stating something like this “site is down for maitanence please try again in aminute.”

I had to reboot my web server to get that message to go away and that worked. I still showed to of the three plugin updates were needed. I tried to update no go. I tried to delete the plugins and they would not delete, yet I deactivated them first.

I tried to re-install WP 3.6.1 and I got the message unable to locate content(wp-content)

how ever when I ssh into my server I do see the wp-content directory. It is there and it is writable.

I tried to remove the pluggin from the directory and that didn’t work either.

any suggestions on what to try next?

  • Do an manual upgrade with ftp

ok so I have found my problem and it has nothing to do with wordpress. As I have changed my server around for ftp users to jail them to their home directories. As I restarted the web server the other day I forgot to bind their web directories to their home directories so they can access their wordpress files. After I did a bind the updates worked correctly except one update on one site and that is the wptouch update. I have deleted this from the plugin directory and it didn’t help. I am thinking there is something in the database that is keeping this update from happening.

    Any thoughts?
