    Hello,
I have just installed wordpress on a new domain, for some reason it won’t find me the plugins I usually use, it says: No plugins match your request, although I know for sure that they exist.
I haven’t done anything in my site yet, what am I missing?

  • Perhaps the web server isn’t able to contact the internet? If you open the main admin page and look at the news/events widget, does it show you any information gathered from the internet?
You could check that with your hosting provider.

    And here’s a work-around:
You may download the plugin you want as a zip-file from www.ads-software.com, next, go to Plugins – Add New and click on the upload button near the top and upload this zip file.
Alternatively, you can unzip the plugin file in your own computer and upload the folder with the plugin-slug-name and all its contents to wp-content/plugins

But if your server doesn’t let you contact the internet, then many plugins won’t work. Akismet, as an example, relies on communication with a network of spam detection servers.

On Appearance -> widgets, it gives me :
“Allow MonsterInsights to track plugin usage? Opt-in to tracking and our newsletter to stay informed of the latest changes to MonsterInsights and help us ensure compatibility allow – do not allow”

    is that what you mean?

Hmm. Obviously you have managed to install some plugin. So I guess your server does have connection with the internet.

So then the question is what you’re searching for, and how.

If you’re looking for a plugin that for some reason is hidden or deleted in the directory (Author took it down, or the plugin review team did it due to security issues…), then you won’t find it.

The text you’re referring to is about whether you’re OK with their plugin “phoning home” with information about how you use that plugin. It’s up to you, really.

ok, so my website do have a connection to the internet, but it still can’t find new plug ins.
I go to plugins -> add new, then search in the search box, and it won’t find anything, no matter what I write there

So how did you install MonsterInsights? You said you were on a clean installation…
If you’ve used some web hosts one-click-install, then they may have altered some things.

Yes I did on-click-install, you say they may blocked the access to plug-ins?

No. I’m saying that your web host obviously have changed some things in the installation. Obviously, I don’t know what exactly they have done, but it’s possible that they’ve done something (on purpose or by mistake) that disturbs search for new plugins).

I guess a good next step is to contact your web hosting company.
