I can see the individual settings page for the plugins are visible and they work on my site as well; but after upgrading to WP 3.1 the plugins page only shows “Hello Dolly” plugin with no option to delete it (drop down has only activate/ deactivate)!

Also there are two links visible on top –> All, Active and no Inactive link is visible as well!

Ability to Network Activate also seems to have disappeared!

Add New Plugins is missing as well!

    Using MultiSite?

You need to go to the network admin pages for that now. Upper right hand corner is a link for “Network Admin” (right by your name).

You are right! This is an interesting change.

Just curious – what is the purpose of the usual plugins location now (I mean the one under Site Admin)? Will it be removed in a later version.

It is also not possible to reach the settings of individual plugins from under network admin; I have to install it under network admin–>switch over to site admin to see settings! Seems like an unnecessary step.

But thanks anyways for the very quick response.

Network admin handles the whole install, so ONLY the network admin can install plugins,. Hence the move to there,.

Once the plugin is installed, you either network activate OR you go to the individual site.

This is intended to separate NETWORK from SITE ?? make it less confusing as to which is which.

Okay; I probably need time to get used to the fact that, network activated or not, plugin installation and configuration are now handled at two different layers. Thanks for the clear explanations offered!
