Today I received a message from WordFence Security that top notch and highly used plugins were removed from www.ads-software.com. It turns out this is not the case. Albeit, WordFence flagged these plugins, including their own.

Here is the list of plugins that WordFence indicated were not longer in www.ads-software.com:

    * The Plugin “Akismet Anti-Spam” has been removed from www.ads-software.com.

    * The Plugin “ManageWP – Worker” has been removed from www.ads-software.com.

    * The Plugin “UpdraftPlus – Backup/Restore” has been removed from www.ads-software.com.

    * The Plugin “Wordfence Security” has been removed from www.ads-software.com.

    * The Plugin “Yoast SEO” has been removed from www.ads-software.com.

Does anyone have any insight as to why this incorrect reporting of flagged vulnerabilities noted in the plugin?

  • I also got this type of message listing a completely different set of plugins, none of which were actually missing from here.

So I’m guessing that it’s a bug in Wordfence, unless maybe the mothership here does a quick delete/restore on the server for some reason.

    Cheers!

Same here. 14 plugins listed as removed from www.ads-software.com when in fact ALL of them are still active in the repository.

    Hi,

At Wordfence we rely on data from www.ads-software.com to get a list of plugins on the repository. We got a couple of reports like yours recently, so our assumption at this time is that www.ads-software.com for some reason sent us incorrect information for a short period of time. If you try a new scan now, you should not get the errors. Can you let me know if the warnings are gone when you run a new scan?

    Thanks.

Ah, that makes sense. I had thought that you folks were scanning the repository. So if the mothership actually sends you info, it must be on their end.

I just ran a scan, and things are looking fine!

I had one plugin file difference, but it looks legit; one of those times when a file changes in the same version. I let WF repair it.

I will admit that I’m still getting used to the slick new interface, but it’s AOK.

    Awesome job, Wordfence!
    Dave
