It sounded too good to be true. Don’t use this plugin unless you know where to put your hands in the core. The plugin offer absolutely no settings, neither a checkbox or anything in the backend (where the game should occur), you almost think it’s not installed. The instructions on Github are only clear to WP developers and so vague that not even studying WP documentation you can understand where to put the functions.
Lucky those 50K who are succesfully using it, they must all be developers. Myself, I canned it!

This is a plugin that’s actually built for developers or more advaned DIY users to integrate into their themes. The 50K happy users are primarily users whose themes are already integrated with the plugin.

The problem is because themes are so vastly different it’s impossible to give clear instructions on how to integrate the plugin within your theme. And, WordPress has no way to avoid diving into code to use a plugin such as this.

Actually, this is the way most plugins in WP’s early days were. Since then, we’ve gotten more and more “hooks” to hook in our plugin output. Unfortunately, there’s still no good way to do that for this type of plugin.

Putting a settings page in the admin wouldn’t change that in this case. Nor could I do anything with the plugin itself make it easier to use.

The best thing to do is to get your theme author to add support for the plugin or get me to help via my support forums.

I couldn’t work with it but from what you’re saying I bet it’s a well built plugin.
My rating is low just because it’s my personal experience with it, and you are confirming that it’s a plugin for developers. Thank you for being clear.

No problem. I could do a better job making sure it’s clear that it’s a developer/advanced plugin in the description. I’ll be sure to add clearer text in the next update.
