I am seeing a weird issue with my WordPress site where activation / deactivation of plugins does not work. I do get the activated / deactivated message when I try and no errors but the plugin is not really activated / deactivated most of the time. If I keep trying eventually it works.

Using the WP staging plugin I made a staging copy site on the same server and I cannot replicate the issue there which seems odd since it is identical.

So I am struggeling to find the reason. Anybody got an idea?

  • Your host is probably using object caching. Nice hosts will provide you with either a way to turn it off, or a way to purge it.

Thanks for your answer. After some extence testing I found that it was caused by the Plugin Organizer plugin. After I disabled that the problem went away.

What version of Plugin Organizer are you running? There was an issue with that happening in previous versions of Plugin Organizer and I have fixed it.
