    I had a customer join a monthly membership today. He goes through the sign up process and pays via paypal. He then has instant access when paypal has not even returned the completed payment email? Both times, within 5 mins, paypal cancels his recurring payment due to credit card failure. Neither time did an approval email go out by paypal, yet the customer still has full access to paid information.

    Thanks for getting in touch with us. It sounds like you are using PayPal Standard, correct?

    Jason has actually written a bit of guide that can probably shed more light on the situation. In the guide there are also a couple of solutions that you can try to help solve this issue for you.

    I am actually using PayPal express, but I will look at the information you provided and see if that can help me.

    Actually, the users membership level is being set to active immediately upon payment, but then a few minutes later paypal is canceling the process. I never get an email receipt or notification from paypal, just a notice from the software that I have a new member, and the members level is active, so I don’t think it’s the same issue as was happening with PayPal standard.

    Hi @mccullek,

    I spoke to one of my colleagues about this issue and he says it might be an issue coming in with the payment gateway.

    Could you possibly get in touch with PayPal to see what reason the payments are being rejected? Perhaps they have a more specific error they can share with us?

    I know that it doesn’t help much but without logging into your site and doing some troubleshooting it is a little tricky to find a solution.

    Please don’t share login credentials here, as it is a public forum ??
