PMPro recommends that TML be used. Upon install, anytime I click the Register Button (note there is Login and Register placed to protect the info) it goes to the Login Page and NOT to the Register page. Below, I list out the links and troubleshooting. I reached out to the TML Developer and he stated this is an issue on PR Pro’s side.

I tend to agree. I did some digging around and discovered a mess. So, I disengaged TML and still the Register Button which is supposed to resolve as: wp-login.php?action=register goes instead to: /wp-login.php and not to /membership-account/membership-levels/ I went ahead and attempted a 301 Redirect both in cPanel and in .htaccess to no avail. I went even further and did a MU Plugin with a PHP script and even that did not work.

It strikes me as pretty basic that if someone wants to Register, they shouldn’t be run through the cattle shoot of going to the Login Page and having to squint to see the Register button — granted it appears on TML the same way which leads me back to a coding problem on PM Pro’s end. If they are a novice you loose customers — 4 so far today and I am fortunate they emailed me.

So, what is the fix to make your Register Button actually go to the proper page which is: /membership-account/membership-levels/

You may recreate the problem, unless I find a fix, at:

So, from the front end I figured this part out and there really isn’t any type of documentation. To send the Register Button over to the Register Page /membership-account/membership-levels/ you have to set the settings in /wp-admin/admin.php?page=pmpro-advancedsettings which is the Advanced Settings in the PM Pro Admin Section. The default is to send you to the Login Page.

This strikes me as counterintuitive. One would think to enable the ability to create a Membership Site you would want the person to contemplate that which they want to either sign up for or buy and then Register accordingly. Even if you didn’t, the reality is that backend, PM Pro hijacks the normal parsing of the registration process which WordPress implements.

Neither here nor there. I figured it out and like the Plugin; I just think this is a bug in some ways.
