I seem to be having an issue when a buys a membership in the discord. The plugin will asign them a role, take them back to the checkout to complete the purchase, but it does not ever ask them to set up a password for the PMPro account on the website.

At first I thought it might be using the discord password from when it has them log on, but that is not the case.
I reached out to PmPro and they said it was an issue with the discord plugin.

Has anyone experienced this before and what was the fix?

When a user chooses to connect with Discord:

If the email associated with his discrod account does not exist, a new WordPress user account is created, the password is generated automatically.
the user is supposed to receive an emails login credentials.

What is happening, the user will get an email with the user name (Discord Email) but no password, or link to set up a password. It is just a link to log in.

The user can reset a new password with the associated email.

Is there not a way for the user to put in a password when they are checking out?

If I just have them set up a PW. They have to check out, then get the verification email with the user name on it, then try to log back in, but will have to select @forgot Password’ in order to request a PW reset.

Hey @spyoptions I believe you are using feature “Login with discord”,
that means no need of password and setting up account by filling up many fields, that decrease conversion.

The user will be logged and able to make purchases with discord account connected,

They have 2 options to reset password:
    – The user profile – (First they will be login automatically if they choose login with discord. )
    – Forgot password option at your website.

I suggest to edit the “New User registration” email template and include instructions added above.
