    We are using Paid Membership Pro (not Plus) with authorize.net. If a member’s payment fails, it is not showing as rejected – it shows as it if goes through. The person then tries to log in and it fails, of course, because they payment never processed. But PMPro is reacting as if it goes through.

    How does one notify the person that it failed during purchase?

    I’m sorry to hear about the issue you are facing.

    Is this for a recurring payment or during the initial checkout/signup process?

    Paid Memberships Pro doesn’t restrict login access based on membership status by default (this can be tweaked with some custom code).

    If a recurring payment fails, Paid Memberships Pro tries to send an email if the gateway sends through a notification through (Silent Post). Alternatively, you could reach out to Authorize.net to see what is possible from their end to also send the customer’s a direct email.
