pngout installation

Usually that means the pngout builds won’t work on your server, can you please turn on EWWW’s debugging setting and post the debug information from the settings page via pastebin.com?

Well, that just confirmed what I thought, which is that the pngout binaries are not working on your server.
If you haven’t already, check the pngout section on this page: https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/ewww-image-optimizer/installation/

If nothing there works, I’m afraid it just isn’t possible to get it working on your server. If you really want to squeeze those last few bytes off your images, you can also sign up for the EWWW IO API: https://ewww.io

Is there anything I should mention to host provider that should fix this problem? What should i ask them to do/change?

The only thing I could think of is to find out what linux distribution and version they are running. If it is an older one, perhaps they would be willing to move your account to a newer server.

My hosting provider told me they are using CloudLinux Server release 5.11 on this server.

I’ve not tested it with CloudLinux. I’ll give it a spin and let you know what I can find out.

Nevermind, just found the Cloudlinux 5.11 install image.

You’ll want to upload the pngout-static file from the x86_64 folder. If it doesn’t work, post an updated debug log please.

It’s throwing a permissions error, make sure it is set to executable for all users. Typically, 755 is preferable which equates to these options:
user: read, write, execute
group: read, execute
others: read, execute

Ricardo, It is proprietary software and must be download using the EWWW automatic button, or manually using the instructions on the Installation page. If you have further issues, please start your own thread.

If you already had optipng working when you did the first round of optimization, then it probably isn’t necessary, unless you really really want to squeeze every last byte out of those images. In that case, check the “force re-optimize” box, and have at it!
