PNGs lack transparency – latest version

Hi –
I have latest retina pro. When uploading a full sized png file to use for the logo, the retina logo does not retain transparency – it shows a black background. However, the same full sized png will show up transparent if I insert into a post or page. The image also shows a black background in the retina dashboard in the “full size” retina column.

This also happens if i upload the replacement file with the @2x extension.
