• All right, so this seems to be a recent problem, since I uploaded images without trouble a few weeks ago and I don’t believe I’ve done anything to my theme’s code within that time.

Here is the error I get whenever I try to upload an image: https://i.gyazo.com/913462c7dcca756c08d6caef4a73d6c3.png

    Here is my website: https://www.distantitinerant.com

I have tampered with the theme code so that is a potential problem, however as I said before everything had been working well for a time after I had made all changes.

Before, I encountered a similar error when attempting to add .swf files to my site, which I was able to overcome with a plugin and some simple page code. I’ve already attempted to update wordpress itself to no avail, as well as deactivated all plugins to see if they were the problem.

    Any ideas?

  • Sounds like a permissions problem with your hosting service provider. Did you contact them yet?

    Cool site btw.

    Thank you!

Well, the thing is (I forgot to mention, my apologies) that I also have a test website up with the same theme (albeit not the same plugins or theme edits – I didn’t use a child theme for the main website), etc, and it will still let me upload pictures normally.

If it were a problem with my service provider neither would work, right?

Ah, all right, so I just tried switching themes and it looks like if I switch to twenty-thirteen it will still allow me to upload images, so that means it’s a problem with my hemingway theme.

I’d like to avoid having to edit my theme again from scratch if necessary. Does anyone know what could cause a theme to react this way/how to correct it?

I’m wondering from what you said if one of your plugins is conflicting with the Hemingway Theme? Can you activate the Hemingway Theme and deactivate all of the plugins and then activate them one by one testing the image upload problem after each activation to try and find the one that is causing the problem?

Sorry for taking so long to reply!

I’ve tried deactivating all plugins before but I’ll definitely give it another go and let you know how it goes.
