Title pretty much says the gist of it – I’ve changed the slug from “podcast” to our own preferred slug, with no change to the URLs of each podcast page, even with a permalink flush.

I’ve perused the support threads and haven’t found anything nearing this topic, though the one thing that differs from the usual is that I’m using it on a Multisite network – not that I expected this to affect it.

Any ideas where to start troubleshooting? Site is currently under development, so I don’t have a link on hand.

    Hi @wsp-kk,

Could you please describe what happens when you follow these steps?

    1. Go to Settings and change the podcast slug to “seasons.”
    2. Navigate to Podcasting -> All Podcasts and click View on your podcast.
    3. Check the URL that opens.

    Questions:

    1. Did the URL change?
    2. Does it display the content correctly, or does it show a 404 error page?

I followed the procedure and got https://mydomain.com/seasons/hotzspot/ (the podcast is called hotzspot). I get it now; the slug is designed as a base for multiple podcasts or separate seasons – that explains why the RSS feed had this format for Visit Podcast Website >> as well.

I’ll work with that, though we were trying to design the site without archive pages (rather, a single page with the podcast-player widget, allowing for a simpler https://mydomain.com/hotzspot/). We’re also getting the old Critical Error notice on this page – not sure why; perhaps it’s falling back on one of test theme files and breaking the code. I’ll figure it out.

    Thanks again!
