• Hi there

I have been playing around with https://twominutemaths.co.uk/ and the idea is to produce a two minute podcast for a variety of GCSE Maths topics to aid C/D borderliners. This will be accompanied by a two minute bit of text and, in the future, when I get time, a two minute bit of self marking work.

I have a couple of questions / problems(!)

I want to change the permalink to customer /%postname%/ as I understand this will be better for search engine optimisation, the .htaccess file in the root of the site is writeable and the WP backend system professes to have written to it (or whatever it does) but then I get 404 errors for my pages (I have some test text on the site for now).

Is there a plug in or something I need to make a feed for my podcasts out so that I can submit them to iTunes or similar?

Is there a simple way of dropping in the file for the podcast everytime I make one or will I need to FTP it in each time?

Also my post RSS feed doesn’t appear to be valid…or is that down to something I have “tweaked”?

Enough questions for now – hope this all makes sense!

    Thanks

    Stephen

  • Try using the podpressplugin.

    Thank you.

    1. On many servers the “postname” alone is not a good solution, try to add something else to the permalink structure.
    2. For plugin you got the answer above.
    3. I don’t know of any solution that would save you from uploading the file in some way…
    4. If the permalinks don’t work, the feeds, usually, don’t work either.
