• Podpress player will show in excerpts, but not in the post content. Adding [display_podcast] doesn’t work either. I use Arras Theme, and everything worked fine until I upgraded podpress.

I’d like to my listeners to be able to subscribe to the individual category itunes feeds. The Widget only has RSS feeds for categories. Is there anything already in Podpress that would allow me to do this

Yes. You can insert the URL of the iTunes category feed as an “Alternative Feed URL:”. Further if you add an alternative button (URL) then the relative long category feed description in the sidebar will disappear. You may use the URL of the iTunes feed button image.

While the Podtrac player is nice, can you suggest any other “listen now” buttons or ways that I can show off the different shows? I suppose I could create my own button artwork, and have people click those, but the Podtrac player almost is an absolute solution.

I’ve looked at a lot of different options, https://www.stitcher.com/ seems like an option, if they’ll accept my shows, but maybe you have an idea?

Thanks again. You’re the most helpful person on WP forums!

Do you know the XSPF player widget of podPress?

I know that podPress e.g. the player or the Play button of mp3 episodes looks different in different browser while the “Use HTML5 tags:” check box is checked. Further the HTML5 support in podPress could be better. That is why I intend to add a new player to podPress which looks maybe a little bit more modern and more importantly is looks and feels on every computer and mobile device the same way. One of the players which full fill these requirements is for instance the jPlayer.

That is for instance one of things which are more important to me than to add more 3rd-party support to podPress (like the Podtrac RSS tags).

I have watched the video on that page and I would say that Stitcher is more like an App for mobile devices which helps listeners to subscribe to multiple podcasts – in a way like the podcast part of iTunes. It looks more like a podcatcher then a player for a web site to me. Am I wrong?
