Has anyone got experience of putting PODS custom post type fields into a Tablepress table?

I’m trying to display some of the fields from a PODS custom post type in table format…and I’d like each new ‘post’ to display as a new row (but only the selected four fields, i.e. one for each column)

I’ve tried wrapping the Tablepress shortcode with [PODS name=”xxx”]—[/PODS], but it’s not working…and there seems to be a lack of info. on the PODS site.

Just wondered if anyone had combined PODS with Tablepress?

    Thanks

    Hi,

thanks for your post, and sorry for the trouble.

Unfortunately, I’m not aware of a solution here, sorry.
It might be easier to use a custom solution here, where you retrieve that PODS content in some sort of list/array format (in PHP code) and then use a loop to iterate over that list and print it in the desired format.

    Hi Tobias,

Apologies, but your custom explanation was way over my head – I’m not a coder!

However, I think if you cast your mind back to 2018/19 you may find a solution that was offered to you:

    https://github.com/TobiasBg/TablePress/issues/76

I came across that link by googling for a solution, and I have since downloaded the plugin and achieved a very nice result of Pods data in a TablePress table.

It’s built precisely for TablePress to work with Pods, and it seems to do exactly what it says on the tin – I have not encountered any glitches. I would highly recommend it as a TP extension, which you might publish on your site? I believe the author has an updated version of the plugin.

    Best regards

    Hi,

great find! I totally forgot about that Extension, as the discussion about it was more than two years ago…
Personally, I don’t use PODS which is why I don’t have special experience with it.

    Tobias

I’m the lead developer of the Pods Framework project, just wanted to reply here and let you know that this is also an area where I’m going to be working on an official Pods add-on for TablePress). I think there’s a lot of great power to be had between the two! No ETA yet but it’s on my official list of add-ons to work on.
