Pods Pages and Pods Templates
-
Hi,
I’ve created a Pod (‘Properties’), set up a Pod Template for the Pod and Pod’s archive and am trying to set the page up for the front-end (ie what a visitor to the site would see).
I’d like to use an existing page template in the theme I’m using to display the individual Pods and also the Pods archive page. The page template I want to use is “Full width” in the Twenty Twenty theme. I’m trying to use that page template for displaying individual Pods as well as that Pods’ archive page.
As far as I can tell, that’s done with a Pods Page, so, I’ve enabled “Pages” in “Pods Admin”->”Components” and can see the “Pods Pages” option in the dashboard. I assume there’s a simple way to link a Pods template with a Pods page t display Pods content, but I’m obviously missing it. No matter what I’ve tried, the Pods template and Pods page don’t use the theme’s page template. I’ve been following the instructions here: https://docs.pods.io/tutorials/how-to-create-a-pods-page/ and have tried a variety of values for the fields I’m not sure about.
On: “Edit Pod Page”
– I’ve used the “Archive Page Slug Override” ( all-properties/* )as the URL for the archive page and the first part of the URL I get from that Pod’s menu items’ URLs in “Appearance”->”Menus” (ie: property/* )
Are those the correct URLs to enter in the “Enter URL here” when I create those Pods Pages?. (Incidentally, the label for that field disappears after I ‘Update’ the first time.)– I’ve given the Pod Page a title
– In “Page Code”, I’ve left it blank as well as copying and pasting the code from the full-width template (template-full-width.php)
– in the “Page Template” section, I’ve selected the “Full width”, Twenty Twenty theme template. I’ve also tried creating a page template (copied the “Full-width” template’s PHP in to it, amended the header to include the Pods type (“Template Post Type: post, page, property”) and added it in a “templates” directory under the child theme’s directory). I’ve tried both of these as the “Page Template” (ie selecting “Full width” and “Property template”).
In the “Pods Association” section, I’ve picked the ‘Properties (property)’ Pod I created from the list in “Associated Pod”.
No matter what I try, the archive page uses the Twenty Twenty ‘default’ page layout (very narrow content) and the individual Pods pages just display a Pod’s title but none of the content.
I’m really stuck. Please help!
Thanks and all the best.
