We’re getting the following error on variable products, because the SKU field under Inventory is empty:

This product is missing the following fields required to be listed on Amazon: SKU

All variations have SKUs, so this error is pointless.

    Hey Shane.

    Thanks for contacting support.

You are right, that message is likely shown due to no SKU being provided for the parent SKU. If this is a new variable listing being listed to Amazon, you need to provide an SKU to the parent, Amazon requires it. Many forums post discuss this topic and all of them confirm that the parent SKU is required: https://sellercentral.amazon.com/forums/t/what-is-parent-sku/413907/3

But if these are matched variations then you would not need to provide an SKU for the parent.

You may be able to enable the “check for invalid SKU” setting on the advanced settings page of WP-Lister which might suppress WP-Lister from showing that SKU warning. But if this is a new variable listing being created on Amazon, you must provide a parent SKU.

    Kind regards,
    John
