At the moment, we don’t have a policy against ChatGPT (or other generative text providers), but we do have a policy against misinformation.

When you use ChatGPT (or other generative text providers) to construct your answer, we ask that you edit it for accuracy before posting in these forums. It’s wrong more often than you’d think.

Think of it more as a tool than a solution.

    *Reads. Drinks coffee.*

Is there a policy regarding posting forum responses from Chatgpt?

    Don’t do it. Ever.

    *Has much more coffee*

No one, not any person, ever should use ChatGPT or other tools to reply to any forum post here. Ever. And I do want that to become the policy.

Too often, too many people use ChatGPT to post wall of words that is grossly wrong, dangerous for users, and a fantastic tool for spammers to build their profile and reputation.

It’s a tool of disingenuous people and many spammers. Anyone reading this, please take this seriously: do not use ChatGPT or the like in these forums. You’re not helping anyone when you do.

If you want to help someone then read their problem and form the answer yourself. Even if there are muistakes in spellingh and gramatical mistajkes, it is much better to be yourself.

Edit: I am not suggesting that the original poster of this topic used ChatGPT. I am saying that no one should use that tool here. It does not make your reply “more professional”. It does the opposite.

Thank you for your response. It seems I have struck a nerve, which wasn’t my intent! Which moderator should we listen to? One moderator says it’s ok as long as you check it for accuracy. The other moderator says don’t ever do it!

I don’t take any of these responses personally. Since it’s already been noted that there is no policy on ChatGPT, I’ll use my own judgment when writing in these forums.

Disclaimer: I composed this message all of my own accord.

    Thank you both

I really should drink more coffee, read more and reply more carefully. I had forgotten that the support team discussed this matter in May 2023.

Suggested stance on the use of AI-tooling

Please disregard what I wrote. I’m leaving my reply up for clarity but that make.www.ads-software.com post is the Support Team’s stance on AI tools. That statement should be followed for anyone who wishes to use those tools on this site.

Please ignore my initial reply here. I apologize for the confusion I created with that statement from me.

Jan, thanks for the article. I like this requirement, but how does wordpress enforce it?

“In addition, it is also a requirement that the use of such tools be declared within the response, to provide transparency, and set expectations.”
