Polls don't open or close at assigned times

I try to set my polls to open and close at specific times (usually trying to have them open at midnight on one day and close at 6 PM 2 days later), but never once has it worked. I’ve always had to manually open and close each poll. It’s not like it’s hugely annoying, but I wonder what I’m perhaps doing wrong? (I already made sure my site’s “clock” is accurate to my current time zone, if that is something to worry about)
