• I am having an issue with images. When I go to the WordPress Media section, images show up fine when the language switcher is set to English or All Languages, but when set to French… there’s nothing there.

Same issue when trying to add images to a post/page from the editor.

For the most part, this doesn’t really affect the front end of the website… except… when it comes to image galleries.

I have two pages with the exact same shortcode to display an image gallery (through Jetpack carousel).

    [gallery type="rectangular" ids="345,157,156,134,133,132,131,130,129,123,85,84,83,81,80,79,417,416" orderby="rand"]

The English one works as expcted. The French one shows no pictures.

    Hi!

If your image 345 is in English, then it’s not displayed in French. You either have to duplicate the images in French and choose the French images in the gallery or you can deactivate the languages for the media. However this option is not meant to be changed once media have been uploaded: There is no way to remove the language of existing media. Only new uploaded media won’t have a language and thus will be visible in all languages.

Thanks. That worked. I deactivated “languages and translations for media” in polylang settings.
