Polylang and Participants Database

Has anyone succeeded in using Participants Database with Polylang? The form fields are supposed to be translateable after activating
define( ‘PDB_MULTILINGUAL’, true );
The creator of Participants Database plugin says that his plugin sends strings through gettext. Does Polylang use gettext to retrieve translateable strings? Can I make it do so? I’m using the latest versions of both plugins.
