Polylang breaks after moving site to live domain

  • Hello,

    I’ve been developing my site on a subdomain of my own website e.g. https://test.my-domain.com however when i’ve moved this over to the my clients live domain, which is different polylang breaks and the site just goes to a server 404 page.

    I’ve changed the site url in the wp_options table and the admin works fine. If i deactivate polylang again the site works, but if i reactivate it breaks. I’ve tried resaving polylang settings, but to no avail. Please can someone help or point me in the right direction?

    I recommand to add the URL in wp-config.php not to change URL in the database.
    After you imported your database from test server to live server first of all you login and click on

    Settings > Permalink > Save Changes

    and

    Settings > Languages > Settings > Save Changes

    Then everything works fine (this is how I do it since I use Polylang)
