    Hello
I use polylang for the translation of my site.
I’m having a problem with the plugin “Timeline Express” which is 100% compatible with polylang.

I exchanged with the author of the Timeline Express plugin that sends me back to you.
Normally in polylang > settings > Custom content types and taxonomies I should have the checkbox “Timeline Express Announcements”.

I DO NOT have this checkbox, so I CAN’T translate posts from this plugin.

Can you help me solve this problem?
The author of Timeline Express can not help me on this point despite several exchanges of messages.
If you wish, I can give you private access to the wordpress dashboard on the site.

    Thanks for your help

    Hi,

By default, only *public* post types are shown in the options. I guess that when a plugin author decides that a post type is not public, then he must have good reasons and that’s enough for me to decide not to reveal such post type in Polylang options. The same for taxonomies.

You can always control which post types and taxonomies are translatable by using a wpml-config.xml file or the filter pll_get_post_types (including dor non-public post types and taxonomies).

    Hi @algae,

Just following up alongside @chouby’s post. Based off of the recommendation that the post type needs to be public – and this is just a hunch – Do you have the ‘Read More’ visibility on the options page set to visible or hidden? I’d make sure that it’s set to visible and re-check the polylang options, as setting the read more to hidden will set the post type ‘public’ value to false, so the single post types do not appear in site searches.

The ‘Read More’ visibility was hidden because I did not need it, all my text came in 1 line.

    Now it works.
Thank you to you 2 for your help
