Polylang default language and index.php

  • Hello,

    I recently noticed an error message in red on my Polylang settings page : “Check here to set language of non specified pages as default language.”

    I would like to now UNcheck the box, because now my index.php page is always in French (my default language), rather than stay in the correct language when it shows search results.

    Can anyone suggest how I can get index.php to remain in the correct language rather than reverting to the default language?

    Version 1.6.3

    Static front page
    Other Polylang settings:
    – Default language: French
    – Language is determined by the category name in the permalinks
    – Delete language in the URLs
    – Detect language in the browser
    – Activate language management for medias
    – Synchronization is active for all meta data
