    Hello
I’m using a theme is called wpresidence, and the problem is with the advanced search module that they made. To make it work, I need to make a page with a template of ‘advanced search’. Everything is fine in one language, but when it comes to versions in other languages the search module finds out the amount of pages in it’s current language, but can’t load the search results via ¨advanced search button, it just goes back to the homepage. I tried to contact theme developer, but they are not familiar with polylang and recommend only WPML

    https://pvresidences.com/ – english version
    https://pvresidences.com/es/inicio/ – spanish version

    password: libertad

In both there is an advanced search module made and advanced search page made with required template, however, in the english version it goes back to the homepage, doesn’t show the results – I choose a city ACAPULCO for example, it shows that there are property results, but after you click the ‘ SEARCH PROPERTIES ‘ it goes back to the home page. It works only in the language, where I created the ADVANCED SEARCH RESULTS page first.

    Please Help!

    Hi Chrystl,

I would like to get back in touch with you again. I have solved the advanced search module and advanced search page issue following your advise, thank you so much. Everything worked fine until I have used Polylang Version 1.7.12. However some time ago I updated Polylang to version 1.8 and I experienced another error with the advanced search of my theme. (wpresidence)
When performing a advanced search by using the advanced seach widget, selecting a custom category, the search results page showed results of all custom categories and it should just show the one and only custom category I have selected on the advanced search widget. After experiencing this issue, I have downgraded Polylang to 1.7.12 back again and everything worked fine again.
(I’m using Polylang in combination with “Polylang Slug”

I could not figure out, was the issue was and I left the plugin at its version 1.7.12

Now I saw that you have developed Polylang 1.9 (Pro version) and I’m very interested in buying this plugin, since I would like to take advantage of the “same slug for custom categories”, the other features and I wouldn’t have to use Polylang slug anymore. My only concern is; How I’m going to solve this issue I have mentioned above. Maybe you have an idea, what made it work with Polylang version 1.7.12 and what is the reason that it stopped working with version 1.8? I would really appreciate your help and ones I have solved this issue I would be glad to upgrade to Polylang 1.9 Pro.

Could you please specify your WP Residence version and where I can upload it?

    Hi Chrystl,

I have uploaded the newest version of wpresidence 1.15.3. Yesterday I purchased Polylang Pro 1.9 and installed it, to see what will happen and apparently it is working fine.
Maybe it was an issue with the old wpresidence version 1.14 and Polylang 1.8.
Anyway I’m very happy that I purchased the Polylang 1.9 Pro version, now I can have the same slugs for posts, pages and it works even with custom categories.
I hope it will work with the wpresidence theme, even when there are new updates etc., I will keep you posted. Thank you for this useful plugin.

    Thanks Chrystl,

I have some issue with my urls on the social sharing icons on the custom posts https://pvresidences.com/properties/villa-tesoro-del-mar/
and also on the blog posts: https://pvresidences.com/puerto-vallarta-spring-break/
When I try to share any of these pages on any social network, I will get an 404 error.
I have disabled the Polylang 1.9 pro plugin and everything works fine.
Not sure if i have to consider something in the plugin settings or it is a theme compatibility issue?
I already opened a ticket on the Polylang Pro support.
