Polylang has disabled translations

2 weeks ago I noticed that the hamburger menu wasn’t working. Yesterday, my web-designer who regularly updates my site said that Polylang has ripped the pages & translations apart and that the strings in the back-end seem ok, but the site malfunction is definitely due to polylang.
The only translation on the site that was working as of yesterday was the home page. She has turned off polylang for now, so that at least one of my languages (German) will work.
Has anyone else experienced this and how have you fixed it?
