    Please help, I’m new in wordpress, and I bought one theme to build the website in multilanguage, but I have asked for help for the theme supplier. They recommended me to post here.
    I can use polylang plugin before installing their theme, but now even the polylang plugin is active, but when I am not able to add new language. May you help?
    Thanks

    Your theme is compatible with WPML so Polylang should work.

    but when I am not able to add new language.

    You don’t have the Languages tab (Settings > Languages > Languages tab)?

    See the getting started: https://plugins.svn.www.ads-software.com/polylang/doc/polylang-getting-started.pdf

    @Chrystl2, yes, I can see the settings-> language -> language tab, but when I add new language and save it, my wp site can’t work, it becomes blank ??
    The polylang can’t work in this paid theme.

    Update you WordPress and Polylang version.
    Then deactivate all your plugins except Polylang and try to add your languages.

    Does it work?

    @Chryst12, sorry to reply now.
    Yes, I have tried to update the wp version to latest 4.2.2 and the latest version of polylang 1.7.4, then follow your steps to deactivate all other plugins. But it can’t work, I uploaded the polylang to FTP then I click “Activate”, my wp site becomes blank…
    ?? still can’t work, maybe we have to purchase wpml.

    You can set up a debug.log file to see the error messages:

    In wp-config.php, replace:

    define('WP_DEBUG', false);

    by

    define('WP_DEBUG', true);
    define('SCRIPT_DEBUG', true);
    define('WP_DEBUG_LOG', true);
    define('WP_DEBUG_DISPLAY', false);

    After that a file called debug.log appears in wp-content folder with error messages. Please report these errors in this topic.

    Did you solve your problem?

    @ Chryst1, thanks for your feedback. Because we have a deadline for the website, we bought the WPML language plugin. I’m busy to test the problem now, sorry. Maybe in the future. Anyway, thanks for your help.

    @ Chryst1, we don’t use Polylang plugin now, it’s a pity. I will keep eyes on this wonderful plugin. Keep your good job.

    I too had this problem and this is how I solved it. It was really strange because it happened on my local machine where I used the plugin without any problems before. I could not add English and I could not add German.

    Then I tried to add a randomly choosed language “Dansk” and suddenly I could add the language and guess what … German and English appeared too (without any flags though). As soon as I deleted Dansk German and English dissappeared again. So I went ahead added Dansk again and deleted not only Dansk but the incomplete German and English entries too and now I could add English and German new without any problems and they appeared correctly with flags.

    The reason most likely was that I had imported pages from another site that already had language settings. So these settings were imported too. So somehow the language were already there but not correctly setup in polylang and polylang could not add them again. So adding a language you have never used can help making these incomplete entries visible and you can delete them to install the languages correctly.

    @cinematic thanks your method solved my problem.
