I have polylang successfully installed, but am having a problem with some of the pages. When I view all of the pages, it shows me the pages with a little “+” to add a translation or a little pencil if there is a translation already in place. BUT for three of the pages, there is no option to add a translation. No “+”, no pencil. Any ideas how to change this?

    Hi!

You need to assign a language to these pages.

Here is a screen shot from when I edit the page:

As you can see the flags for the other languages are there, but there is no plus sign to click on to add them. I can’t enter data in the language field either.

Is there some way to do this manually? Some reason why these pages are different from the rest?

I think that I have solved the problem….

It appears that if you go to the original language and edit the page, simply by pressing “update” the options to translate it will appear!

Yes. When pages exist before Polylang is activated, they don’t have a language. You must assign a language to them. You can do this by editing the page, with quick edit or bulk edit.

Also Polylang informs you (above the languages list table in Settings->Polylang) that there is some existing content without language and proposes you to assign the default language to all this content.

Clicking on “edit” was not enough, you needed to click “update” to make the options available for 3 of the pages (the other ones appeared as expected).

    Thanks for all your help!
