POLYLANG remove /en/ or /fr/ from permalink

  • You can remove /en/ or /fr/ anly for posts, pages, categories and post tags, but not for archives (How could we know the language otherwise ?). this is the default setting of Polylang (Add language information to all URL including posts, pages, categories and post tags unchecked).

    How you describe your problem, I would expect that somewhere in your theme the AJAX url is badly written.

    home_url('/') . 'wp-admin/admin-ajax.php' is bad and conflicts with Polylang since home_url(‘/’) is filtered and replaced by the homepage in the right language.
    home_url('/wp-admin/admin-ajax.php') is good and does not conflict with Polylang.
