Hi, I’m using polylang for my website to swtich from French to English. I tried a lot of different sliders to put in my posts and it seems to only work in French, not in english (second language of my website). I first thought that the sliders just didn’t work well, but then I read a little bit and tried deactivating all other plugins to see if it would change something, to finaly see that it is probably Polylang the problem… Because it works fine in french but not at all in english… Do you have a solution or something that can help me find one?

    Thank you!

Let me know if you need to see the code

It’s difficult to propose a solution without knowing what is this slider and if it displays posts or only pictures.

If it displays media, you can try to de-activate the language and translation management for media in Polylang settings (of coure if you don’t need to translate your media titles and descriptions).

Otherwise yes, the code generally helps a lot to make tests and debug.

WOW… it was THAT SIMPLE!!! I simply de-activated the language and translation thing… Thank you so much!!!

I had the same problem with the Soliloquy slider plugin… no errors, it just would not load. Turning off media translation management fixed it. Would be nice if I could translate titles and descriptions, but I guess I can live without it.

    Thanks!

I you are referring to https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/soliloquy-lite/, I had no issue to make it work even if media language management is activated.

For this, I activated the languages management for the soliloquy custom post type in Polylang settings (otherwise it won’t work). Then I created a slider per language and added the sliders in the posts / pages I wanted using the shortcode.

Reactivating media and soliloquy post type management does seem to work on any new slider that I create, however, the old slider (which existed before I installed polylang) still will not load. I’ve tried re-updating the slider etc. (the languages tab is there and all), but nothing seems to be having an effect.

No big problem though, recreating the slider is not much work. ??

    Thanks for the awesome support!
