    Hello,

It’s expected that the preferred language detection is slow. The reason is that the detection process is done in PHP and the homepage is not cached when the option is activated. For the other pages, with a cache plugin, there should be no difference between a site with or without Polylang.

Yes, I agree, you still need to allocate some time for PHP to detect the language. That being said, I notice a slight difference in the loading time with and without Polylang. About a second. It is not a disaster. However, I use WP Rocket which is very efficient.

If I turn off polylang, vikingrchronicles.ca becomes a second faster. By reactivating it, I have the data displayed above.

To have a multilingual site, I imagine that is the price to pay which is by the way, very acceptable. I’m using another plugin on a client site, and it’s definitely slower.

But if you have any suggestions, I would be happy to take them! I bought your add-on for WooCommerce, really very practical!
