• Hi!

I just updated Polylang to current version and now:
? Portfolio entries only show in default English – they have vanished from the Spanish portfolio page.
? Home page slider now only shows one slide in English, but all 6 slides in Spanish!

    sebastianfisher.com

    1) permalinks are set to Post Name
    2) static home page
    3) which polylang settings??
currently: The language is set from the directory name in pretty permalinks

    Thank you

    Hi!

Could you try the development version?
    https://downloads.www.ads-software.com/plugin/polylang.zip

    Same thing happened to me.

    I have Virtue Theme Premium.

    Settings:
    – The language is set from the directory name in pretty permalinks
    – static home page

If i set ” The language is set from content” portfolio works BUT strings translations doesn’t.

If i set “The language is set from the directory name in pretty permalinks” portfolio doesn’t work, everything else is ok.

I tried the development version and it didn’t work. Besides i had to configure all language settings again when i reinstalled polylang old version.

I hope polylang next version fixes these problems!!

    Thanks in advance

Hi, sorry, took me a while to get back to this.

I updated to v 1.7.4 (looks like the development v. you offered was 1.6.5)

The problem of portfolio entries only showing in one language seems to be resolved for the time being, but the Home page slider now only shows one slide in English, and still all 6 slides in Spanish. When I disable the plugin (and no others currently running), I get the slideshow working on both the default English page and the (manually entered) Spanish page

    any thoughts?

    Thanks

PS. all other installs are current and using “Striking” theme

Additionally, the homepage / clicking on logo does not resolve to the correct page in the non default language (Spanish)
    i.e. https://sebastianfisher.com/espanol/ instead of https://sebastianfisher.com/espanol/inicio

I have not found anything regarding this in the documentation

    Thank you for your support

I can’t help on this. I don’t know how your slider works. If you have 2 different contents in the 2 languages, then it seems that Polylang is doing it’s job finding different content for English and Spanish.

    i.e. https://sebastianfisher.com/espanol/ instead of https://sebastianfisher.com/espanol/inicio

I don’t know why your logo does not use the correct home page url. Is this one of your theme settings? Otherwise it is easy to make https://sebastianfisher.com/espanol/ your home url. Just go in Polylang settings and check “The front page url contains the language code instead of the page name or page id”

Hello – this problem persists and after most current updates, the Spanish home page https://sebastianfisher.com/espanol/ resolves to a single blog entry instead of the home page as set in WP Reading settings.

Still only one slide on English home page, but all 6 slides on what is supposed to be Spanish home page at https://sebastianfisher.com/inicio/

Again, when I deactivate the polylang plugin, the English home page slider works as intended.

Of course I would love to get this sorted out and your help would be very much appreciated.

    Thank you

Update – managed to fix the spanish home page resolution somehow (by duplicating the page and deleting the old)

but the english/spanish slider issue remains

    Thanks
