Bought the OnePress Plus plug in a year ago with ‘unlimited’ installs capability.

Went to add it to a previously developed OnePress site and could not install it as the key had expired.

    This was NEVER presented!

BEWARE! Fame Themes appears to want buyers to lap it up and install everywhere, then tell you that you have to buy an annual license for each site to keep it going!

BEWARE OF FALSE ADVERTISING BY THIS COMPANY!

Hi, I read FameThemes small print, their T&C’s sound clear enough – 1 year access for the purchased product and unless you commit to FameClub lifetime access.

From FameThemes FAQ: What happens if I do not renew? “If you do not renew your membership you will no longer have access to our themes, new theme releases, updates, support or design files. You are more than welcome to continue using any themes you have downloaded during your active membership forever.

Can I ask about your comment:
“you have to buy an annual license for each site to keep it going!”

Have you had to make an additional payment to continue using their OnePress template? Or is it that you tried to install the OnePress plug in and your 1 year ‘Access Key’ had expired?

I appreciate you taking time to respond to my query! Thanks!

    EXACTLY!

From FameThemes FAQ: What happens if I do not renew? “If you do not renew your membership you will no longer have access to our themes, new theme releases, updates, support or design files. You are more than welcome to continue using any themes you have downloaded during your active membership forever.”

I downloaded the OnePress Plus plug-in (to my computer) when I purchased it. When I went to actually install it on a WordPress/OnePress site (just over a year later), ‘it’ asked for the key. When I entered the key, it said invalid. When I contacted support, they said ‘buy it again.”

I reiterate, FALSE ADVERTISING. Even my receipt says nothing about one year, etc.

I am not asking for support or update – I just want to be able to install what I bought.

Thanks for clarifying, as I was considering their annual membership today! It’s a shame as I really liked their OnePress template.

Ricky, can I please cite your experience if I query future themes access with their support team?

Same to me Ricky… I didt also now a 1 Star review. Such a joke.
I only used it for 1 domain. And now i am not even able to install it.

Carlamsam – feel free to note my experience as you query others, but remember, unscrupulous vendors will lie up front to get your money and, as the case of the Vietnam-based OnePress, not much you can do when they fail to live up to their end of the bargain.

I have purchased Divi from Elegant Themes and used it several times and no problems!

Thanks for your feedback everyone! As a newbie, buying a credible WP theme has been a minefield… However, I’m diligent in my research before parting with ‘client’s’ cash and grateful I came across this post. I purchased elsewhere, as I realised I would just be lied to if I queried future access.

    Hi Carlamsam,

What theme did you go for in the end? I too was considering the OnePress Plus, but I don’t like their pricing structure and some of the reviews on here from people who have used the theme for a year are horrendous.

    Hi Cashflowcop,

I totally agree and grateful for everyone’s honest feedback on here!
    I purchased: https://themeforest.net/item/quantum-responsive-business-wordpress-theme/13477082?s_rank=2
Primarily due to developers support that other customers mentioned in feedback. After ‘almost’ being duped by Onepress, assurances that my client won’t have their site held to ransom in a year was key.
This is what I built with the Quantum theme: https://www.twheat.co.uk
You’ll notice it resembles the Onepress theme, as the client really liked that one. Hope it helps you!

I’ve been in touch with Fame Themes about One Press due to some problems I have been having. To be honest, they have been very quick and helpful. They have resolved all my issues. I can’t comment on their service if I were to purchase the Plus theme, but their free one works well for me at the moment, and considering it is free, their support was still very good!

I thought it best to update my experience.

Thanks for the pointer about Quantum theme.

I found their support team to be very helpful and responsive too!
However, after realising I must upgrade to edit credit in the footer, I dug deeper and didn’t feel comfortable putting a client’s site at risk in a year’s time…
Onepress is a perfectly good ‘freemium’ template – but NOT one to consider upgrading to for professional client project.

Thanks for the heads up. I am hesitant to upgrade to Pro because I don’t like the pricing structure of having to pay every year for updates (I know they are not the only ones who do this). Your experience adds a further reason to not upgrade.

What might be also problematic for some institutions / accounting: FameThemes has no tax-ID-number and payment is only possible trough CreditCard/PayPal; I know the latter is standard, but at least some let buy by invoice and bank transfer (giving the license only after receiving the money).
