• The capabilities of this seem quite good, but the implementation into WordPress is quite poor. To be honest some of this makes me hesitant to use the product. I feel design and presentation, even in the backend of a WordPress site, should be a consideration.

    • The fact that it sits beside Woo’s native Coupon link in the admin sidebar is confusing to a novice user. It should either replace it, or be implemented into the native Coupon management.
    • Using your branding in the admin sidebar (Woo Discount Rules) is unnecessary. Again, it should feel like it’s PART of WooCommerce, not a price of advertising.
    • Last, but most important, none of the admin pages use WordPress or WooCommerce’s native styling. Feels like a hodgepodge.

    Hi

Thank you for the feedback. Really appreciate it for sharing.

Let me answer the points one by one:

    Regarding point 1 and 2:

Since the plugin provides discount capabilities, we thought it would be better to have the menu as a submenu within WooCommerce. Just like the way plugins like WooCommerce Subscriptions do.
Other than, there is no intention to confuse or promote.

May be renaming the menu title as “Discount Rules” might help? But a few users might have trouble finding the plugin after installing it as they might be looking for a menu that is similar to the plugin name. Let’s check with other users and see if we can better position it without a confusion.

    Regarding point 3:
I agree that we did not use the default UI as such. We have used the Bootstrap based UI as the rule engine had a number of conditional fields with quite a lot of dependencies.

We are working on a new rule engine where we are using the default UI.
Once done the UI would gel with default UI.

Thank you once again for the honest feedback. Responses such as this would help steer us in the right direction.

    Thanks
    Ramesh
