Poor integration

  • Doesn’t integrate with WP Roles. Doesn’t integrate with CoursePress which is odd considering they both come from WPMUDEV. They say that’s because CoursePress doesn’t support recurring payments. Duh! What about non-recurring memberships?

    I’m sorry to hear that you didn’t like our plugin but I cannot find any thread of yours in our support forum about issues you have.
    I’m interested in this statement as both plugins should work together no problem

    If you have problem with Membership 2 pro please create new thread on support forum https://www.ads-software.com/support/plugin/membership/ and we will investigate this issue.

    First of all to correct my error, I should have said “MarketPress”, not “CoursePress”. I have no issues with CoursePress, which integrates just fine with MarketPress.

    My complaint is that MarketPress and Membership 2 don’t integrate. This was established by reading the support forum. Specifically, Membership 2 supports recurring payments but MarketPress doesn’t. So they don’t integrate.

    My second complaint was that Membership 2 does NOT utilise WP User Roles. Roles are, in my opinion, the correct way to handle access control (as it is in some other Membership plugins).

    If either of these we bugs, I would have opened up a support thread or ticket. Arguably, these should be “feature requests” but I don’t have time to way around for “in the future” to happen.

    Thanks for the further information about this, we really appreciate your feedback.

    Membership 2 comes with “Member Capabilities” add-on (included in free version as well) that allow you to assign user roles based on the membership, and you can also enable “Advanced Capability protection” that will allow to assign only certain capabilities with specific memberships.

    As for the M2 and MarketPress, this is correct and there’s no direct integration between the two so M2 couldn’t be used to sell MP products or other way around. ??
