Hello! I went through all the optimization steps through Hummingbird. Of course, some of the work I didn’t succeed, but I did most of it and my site still shows poor results in Google Speed ??on the mobile version. I was also surprised that the download delay also occurs due to the Hummingbird scripts. Can you tell me something to help optimize my site? The problem is really big. Thanks in advance and thanks for your work.

    Hi @zapshik,

The files that you shared are not actually Hummingbird scripts, those are your site plugin and theme files after optimization.
Part of Asset Optimization includes combining your files so there are less assets to be loaded, so those reported files are still your theme/plugin files but combined by HB.

Asset Optimization in HB comes with Automatic mode but there’s limitations on what that can do, if you’re looking to squeeze the most of your site you may consider using Manual mode but it could take some more time to configure it properly as the setup is pretty much unique for each site.
You can read more about Asset Optimization on our docs page here:
    https://wpmudev.com/docs/wpmu-dev-plugins/hummingbird/#asset-optimization

I see that in your speed results there are quite a few regarding your images so you might consider giving Smush a try and optimizing your images to resolve these issues.

    Hello! Thanks for the answer.
We have a partially news site, so caching for 1 year is not quite suitable for us, since users entering the site a second time will not see the news update on the site. What can you advise in this case? Is it possible to cache some specific areas, and not the entire site?

    Hi @zapshik,

I suppose you meant Browser Cache? Hummingbird only sets browser cache as 1 year which is more of a Googles recommendation for static assets. You can always change the expiry time within the plugin side for Browser cache, under Hummingbird > Caching > Browser Caching as shown in the following screenshot:

However, setting the browser cache with a year shouldn’t be causing any issues with news updates when visiting the website the 2nd time.

If you meant page caching then Hummingbird doesn’t keep Page Cache for 1 year, as long you have the “Clear full cache when post/page is updated” option enabled under Hummingbird > Caching > Page Caching the changes would always appear when there is a news update.

    Kind Regards,
