• I am helping a friend move his site from one URL to another. Both URL’s are registered with godaddy.

The move from one URL to the other was made with out incident but about three hours after the move, the site became incredibly slow. There was never a caching plugin set up on the site. Currently I am unable to login the dashboard, but the site is available in my browser. When I try to login to the dashboard it tries for a while and then gives me an”internal server error”.

This could be a hosting issue or DNS problem, but I was hoping someone here had an idea. Thanks for any help.

  • Sounds like a DNS propogation issue…DNS for a new site takes 24-72 hours…has it been that long?

    Thanks for responding.

It turns out that it was a DNS issue. I had never made one of these moves before and I assumed that once I was able to log into the site the DNS propagation was complete. The site worked properly within 24 hours.
