    Hi all,

I have a shopping cart with several different PPOM menus operating as pull down choices. One particular selection, if chosen, I’d like it to pop up a warning window, basically a notice that shipping is available only for a particular region. Is that possible to do within PPOM?

    Hi @folderoo,

    Thank you for using PPOM!

Showing warning messages is available only as errors, which can be edited in the meta field settings, or you can include them in the description of the field.

Alternatively, you can use another plugin, such as Otter Blocks, to display a popup conditionally. More details can be found here – https://docs.themeisle.com/article/1551-the-popup-block-otter-blocks-library.

    I hope this helps!

    Thanks, that’s very helpful!

Here is my scenario. We use PPOM so a product can have several different conditions expressed as pull down menus. The conditions are all upgrades to the original product in the cart.

If you use a menu choice and select ‘yes’ then that upgrade increases the total price of the product.

One of these menus is for a product upgrade we can only ship in the domestic US 48 dates.

If one specific upgrade PPOM field/menu is set to ‘yes’ or selected, then we need to notify the buyer…this can’t be shipped outside the US 48 dates. We currently do that using our shipping plugin…if international: put up a warning >> this product add-on cannot be shipped. That’s kind of lame as it’s confusing to the buyer and is on every international shipping price quoted in the checkout.

How can we intercept or trigger a warning if a specific add-on PPOM menu = yes >> trigger warning

or if product in cart has add on PPOM menu choice = yes and shipping destination is intl. >> trigger warning

Can Otter Blocks intercept or trigger a window based on the PPOM menu choice in the cart?

    Hi @folderoo,

The idea you have sounds great!

For now, the free version of Otter allows you to display popup based on different actions, including on load, anchor click, exit, and scroll. You can show this block using the visibility conditions based on some WooCommerce actions such as Product in the cart, Total Cart Value, Product History, and Total Spent.

These options are not very useful when reading the PPOM choices from the cart. However, if you can adjust the condition according to the product name and value (depending on how much the PPOM options cost), you can achieve the desired behavior.

    Best of luck,

    Andreea

Okay, so that’s pretty clear. We would not be able to parse and put up a warning window based on what’s in the cart, at least not in the sense of parsing that a particular menu choice has been selected.

One related question: if I make a selection in a PPOM menu, can the menu pop up a window when it is chosen? You may have already have answered this but just to make sure I understand.

Is there an option in PPOM that on selection of a menu choice that would pop up some form of window by the act of choosing it? If menu choice = yes >> pop up window (48 states US only).

I’m looking in our cart just now after my previous post. I can see that the cart ‘inventory’ listing…what’s in the cart…includes all the PPOM selections as line items listed there one by one.

It seems to me that if Otter Blocks can parse text then if we set it it to look for the name of the add-on product in /cart then we would get the behavior we want. If /cart and ‘add-on name’ >> pop up warning message (48 states US only).

    Hi @folderoo,

You can check the full list of available conditions and choose the one that suits you the most – https://docs.themeisle.com/article/1552-the-visibility-conditions-feature-otter-features-library.

Otter Blocks is also part of our product family, so feel free to contact us on the dedicated forum if you need help configuring it.

    Have a great weekend,

    Andreea
