Settings are identical for both installs. In fact, when i reload my staging area with a copy of my live site, it works in the staging area and still not in the live area.

Its a multisite install. I’ve made the code change to make it the plugin global (i.e. works from the network root). The database entries look the same on the live site and staging site.

The only simple difference that i can see is that the staging area has a fully extended URL, whereas the live site has a domain mapping attached to it.

I’d love to hear your thoughts asap. We have an urgent need for this to work.

    Thanks.

    Hi @drpull

It works for me on both sites, are you sure it isn’t a caching problem?

Yeah, i had to keep scrambling til i got something to work. I downloaded the full plugin and that enabled me to select the popup to load in the page footer. The free version spits out an error when you try to change that setting.

Still, there’s a problem that i can’t figure out. When i use the other settings (eternal load, custom load) on the staging site, they work. When i use them on the live site, nothing pops up. Maybe there’s a different set of permissions on the staging area? Thoughts? I’d really like to use external load if possible so i can stay away from caching issues.

    Thanks,

    Marc

Hey drpull, I’m having the same issue, using wpengine as well. Did you learn anymore about this? No idea why the it works perfectly on Staging but not on live site.

Must be some kind of permissions thing or security thing. I don’t have the time to investigate fully at the moment. Hoping one of the devs looks into it.

    Hi @drpull

Is your staging environment on the same server with the same setup as the live site?

It could be to do with permissions of the files as mentioned, have you spoken to wpengine? They might be able to check the permissions for you.

Having said that, both sites still load the popup for me, and they both look the same.
