popular articles widget

  • hello, I have a news website:
    I use the newswire theme, from theme-junkie

    and I want to add a widget, wich lets me add articles. like the most popular ones: https://www.freshthemes.com/demo/newswire/
    take a look at the right, you have the Breaking news.

    there is a problem with the theme’s widget, because it lets you only pick the category. and it then takes 5 articles from that category.
    but I want to have articles from different categories. is there a widget wich lets me choose the articles I want to show at the breaking news.

    Sorry to see your frustration but I can understand it. I’m not an expert in that exact issue but I’ll try to give you some leaqds based upon what I do know. I am using Atahualpa and in the Admin panel under appearance > widgets there is a widget called BFA popular widgets. Try to google that to see exactly what it does however it may only work with the Atahualpa theme. If you cannot find an existing widget then you are in the position of having to create your own. For instructions search for creating a widget. For this you will have to be familiar with php coding. Sorry if i haven’;t given you an exact solution but that is the way I would approach that requirement. Good luck.

    this widget, automatically searches the popular posts.
    i want to sort 5 articles, I find special.

    I just want to put 5 articles on a collumn. (lets say, i find these articles special, and thus I put them on the right so more people will read these. I just want to make a “widget” in wich I chose 5 articles, and put this on the right side on my side.
    there is no need of widgets, that automatically search the most popular posts. i just want to put 5 articles on the right side, (but with pictures, not only the title of the article)

    please help me, how can I code something with html, or something, and add that just to the right as a widget.

    the only thing i want is, put 5 articles in there.
