Popular Posts Thumbnail Not Honoring Media Dimensions

We have our thumbnail size set under wp-admin/options-media.php to a non-square size of 112×75 with “Crop thumbnail to exact dimensions” checked. However, the Popular Posts widget is outputting the thumbnails as square 75×75. Is there a way to get the widget to honor the thumbnail size set within WordPress?

I am running the latest version of WP (5.4) and the WordPress Popular Posts plugin (5.1.0) and confirmed that the thumbnails are appearing correctly when output in other parts of the site either in WP by default or within our theme, just not with the Popular Posts widget. I have already gone to Settings > WordPress Popular Posts > Tools and emptied the image cache and cleared our entire site cache.
