Will try using get_bloginfo(‘wpurl’) in the next release and see if that works.

In the meanwhile, I can change the values in sql, but is there anyway to manually trigger the update?

I’m getting a strange error, most likely my own fault. Whenever I activate the plugin everything on the wp-admin side works perfectly but for some reason on my blog every single entry gets the following error and craps out: ” Table ‘mcahill_ss.wp_ak_popularity’ doesn’t exist”.

I checked to see if the correct tables were created in my WP database, and they are there. I then turned off the option to display Popularity Contest info in my posts and the error still shows up! What stupid mistake did I make here?

Ok– sorry to keep dragging on this, but I register “0” for home page views across the board (its still set to the default 2″), and the “Home Page Views” list is just returning the first 10 posts of my site. If I understand the plugin correctly, shouldn’t all the posts that are currently on my homepage be getting a count by default?

If so, could the problem be because I’m using a double-loop setup? I’ve noticed this throws off other things as well.

mcahill – not sure what to say, try dropping the table and deactivcating/re-activating the plugin.

Arlo – I can’t reproduce this, it works correctly for me. Perhaps you should wait until the next version that should do the updates for you.

I am currently using another plugin to record most popular posts, so I already have a database with the # of times a post of visited. Is there anyway to incorporate these values into this plugin?

Hmm, I just tried this plugin and it’s causing my main page to only show 1 post insteada of the 8 posts that I want it to.

Alex, How do I remove “Popularity” from posts? If its in your readme, Ignore this post.

lawtai – no idea why that would happen, sounds strange. What version of WP are you using?

XeroCool – askend and answered previously in this thread. ??

Weird…I just figured out my issue has something to to do with having ShortStat installed and implemented in my templates. (mcahill_ss is the name of my ShortStat database, and the plugin is looking there for some reason.) How does Popularity Contest automatically detect the WP database?

EDIT: I found the issue! For some reason you cannot have the ShortStat Require_Once declaration directly after the Header require or else Popularity Contest detects the ShortStat database. The solution is to either place all your ShortStat declarations at the bottom of your templates or have ShortStat’s database within your WP database. Any reason as to why this is happening and if it can be stopped would be awesome.

I do not claim to know why this happens, but when the plugin is installed and active, my feed only displays the one most recent item. I have deactivated the plugin for now. Too bad, because it’s a lovely plugin and I am quite excited about it. Thanks, Alex.
