Popularity Contest plugin. Making it work on a widgeted sidebar?

Hi,

I’ve recently installed the Popularity Contest plugin. Although it seems to work quite well inside posts, I can’t figure out a way to add it to my widgeted sidebar. Any ideas on how to do this?
If not, do you know any other plugin that has similar functionality?
