Popularity Contest problem

I tried updating and resetting the popularity vales in popularity contest, but I keep on getting this error message:

You have an error in your SQL syntax. Check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near '' at line 2

Since I have no idea what that means, can you guys enlighten me on what to do? Thank you in advance.
