popup modal speaker link broken

in the popup modal, the speaker link creates a weird popup underneath the popup modal. when you close the event modal, you see the speaker name and nothing else on a black screen. when you close that, it returns to the events list page.

this wasn’t an issue before and I have deactivated every plugin to test to see if something was conflicting, and it is not. I deleted the plugin and redownloaded, and that didn’t work any magic either. and I also checked it on the WordPress default theme — still the same problem. I deleted all of the CSS I had tried to customize it with, and that didn’t do anything either.

hoping for an easy fix, when I tried to use open in same page, all of the sidebar information is missing — nothing about the date, speaker, location, etc.

I am so deeply committed to this plugin with 7 years worth of programming backentered into it, I would really hate to have to find another plugin at this point, ahh!

also, while I am here — it’d be great if the RSVP button would disappear on expired events!
