    Hi there!

We have noticed that the popup which use to display on our homepage stopped working. When checking the plugin settings we then saw that the Form Builder was not displaying Correctly in the MailChimp plugin:

Then there is a critical Error when trying to view the mailing lists:

Here’s the link to the message from the error logs:

We are running the latest version of WordPress and all plugins are up-to-date. The PHP version is 7.4.

Any help with this would be appreciated!

    Thank you

    Hi @sitebites,

Have you recently made any changes to your Mailchimp account? These sorts of errors usually occur when data that is stored in WordPress via our plugin is no longer found on the Mailchimp account.

    Hi Jon,

No changes have been made to the Mailchimp account – including the username & password.

    Thanks

    Hi @jpowersdev,

Just wanted to check in on this – did you see my last reply:

    Hi @sitebites,

    Thanks for the update.

If you take a look at that line in the plugin, you’ll notice that it only runs when WordPress throws an error while trying to fetch your account. The line in question is here – https://github.com/yikesinc/yikes-inc-easy-mailchimp-extender/blob/d8c990858fb899582e592a97011eaa9f6b7d0c6f/admin/partials/menu/manage-lists.php#L15

You might want to check your API key. I would probably generate a new one through your Mailchimp account and switch to that one. Then clear the API cache as described here – https://yikesplugins.com/knowledge-base/api-cache-settings/

If that doesn’t work, my recommendation would be to completely uninstall the plugin and reinstall it, which will wipe all stored data and should fix any connectivity issues with your Mailchimp account.

Let me know if that helps,
    Jon

    Hi @jpowersdev,

Thanks – we’ll give that a try and see what happens.

    Hi @jpowersdev,

We refreshed the API and the critical error in the backend is now gone!
However, before this critical error, there was a popup/modal sign-up box which use to appear on our homepage. Now that the new API key is in place, it is still not appearing – is there any settings which need to be checked to get this working now?

    Thanks

    Hi @sitebites,

    Ah, thank you.

I took a look at your homepage, and in the browser console I’m seeing an error that your Mailchimp popup form embed script is failing to load the form. Uncaught Error: xhrFailed is the message. It’s possible that the embed script needs parameters changed, or something like that. It’s not coming from our plugin, but changes in your Mailchimp account is the likely culprit as it was with our plugin.

Let me know if that helps,
    Jon

    Hi Jon,

We asked the customer and they have confirmed that no changes have been made to their MailChimp account. Do you have any other suggestions we can try?

    Hi @sitebites

The embed script is not from our plugin, it’s from Mailchimp
    https://mailchimp.com/help/add-a-signup-form-to-your-website/

You’ll need to contact their support.

    Thank you.
